The Indian government has taken various initiatives! The government has announced that medical checks/tests are conducted at the major and smaller ports, and Airports. Testing facilities have been set up in the border areas as well!
Indian Airports
The central Health Minister has announced on Monday, 3rd March, that the medical check-up are being carried out in all airports for the passengers arriving from 12 countries reported with Corona virus.
In the initial stages, medical check-ups were conducted for the passengers arriving from China, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea. However, now, passengers from Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Iran, Italy, and Nepal are also being checked. A separate path has been set up for these passengers to reach the medical check centres. Medical testing has been set up in 21 ports as well.
The Director of the Civil Aviation transport department has informed that all airlines have been requested to make an announcement in the flights from the above countries soliciting the passengers’ cooperation for the medical test.
So far, 557431 passengers have been through this medical tests at 21 airports.
Ports
There are 12 large and 65 smaller ports in India. In these ports, 12431 passenge4rs have been tested so far.
Border Areas
Medical tests are being conducted in the border areas where the 5 states sharing borders with Nepal, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, and Sikkim. All public entering these areas are subjected to medical tests. So far, 1024922 persons have undergone medical tests.
The officials are keeping an ultra-keen watch on all the 3695 villages and rural areas as well!
