Heavy Rain Alert in 10 Districts of Tamil Nadu Today
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall in 10 districts of Tamil Nadu today, bringing relief from the ongoing heat but also raising concerns over thunderstorms and waterlogging.
According to the weather department, districts including Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Erode, Tiruppur, Theni, and Tiruchirappalli are likely to experience intense showers along with lightning in isolated places.
Rain Likely to Continue Tomorrow
IMD has also predicted that heavy rain will continue in parts of the state tomorrow, especially in Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Erode, Tiruppur, Dindigul, and Theni districts.

Officials have warned that sudden heavy rain and thunderstorms may lead to:
- Waterlogging in low-lying areas
- Traffic disruptions in urban regions
- Reduced visibility during rainfall
Residents are advised to remain cautious, avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rain, and stay updated with official weather alerts.
Despite the rainfall, fluctuating weather conditions are expected to continue, with heat and humidity persisting in several parts of Tamil Nadu.
