Unhindered menace day & night - Food courts in the Anna Salai have caught the attention of many now!!

These are the eateries or hotels present on the busy Anna Salai in Chennai. Vehicles of the customers parked in front of these eateries on the Anna Salai in Chennai have been making the lives of many difficult now.
It must be noted that the broadest stretch of Anna Salai between Higginbothams and Tarapore Towers is also the messiest stretch.
Point is that big eateries have taken 75% of the Anna Salai and due to this there is just a single track available for buses, cars, autos etc to pass through. The police as well as GCC officials are not bothered about this and as a result the unhindered menace is present throughout the day.
Post midnight, atleast 1000 persons visit the eateries like Bilal, Sangam and Buhari etc on their cars and motorbikes. This was mentioned by Mr. A. Krishna Kumar, member of Royapettah Residents Welfare Association.
The stretch would become a food court after 10:30pm as 50 hawkers would sell ice-creams, soups, biriyani, parotta etc. He concluded that vehicles should not be allowed to park in front of the eateries. Near GP Road, the situation worsens as vehicles for repairs continue to stay on either side of the road.
It was explained by officials from GCC that pavements near Bilal have not been included in the vending zone list. From next week, strict action would be taken to remove the hawkers from non-vending zones as the issue has been moved to the commissioner.
