Five medical colleges get new deans

For the last few days five medical colleges did not have deans. Three more medical colleges also got new deans after the state health department did a minor shuffle and ordered some transfers and promotions.
Dr R Vimala, MD Pathology, who was the dean of Coimbatore Medical College, has been transferred and appointed as the dean of Madras Medical College, and Dr Meenakshi Sundaram, who was the dean of Theni Medical College, has been transferred and appointed as the administrative head of Government Stanley Medical College.
Dr Revathi, dean of Kanyakumari Medical College, has been transferred and appointed as dean of Coimbatore Medical College.
Dr Gunasingh, who was the HoD of Pediatrics in Institute of Child Health, was promoted and appointed as dean of Kanyakumari Medical College and Dr R M Raja Muthaiah, who was the HoD of Plastic Surgery in Madurai Medical College, has been promoted and appointed as dean of Theni Medical College. However, a dean is yet to be appointed for Dharmapuri Medical College.
