P. Chidambaram’s request: Government departments should exchange useful information
The Central Finance Minister, Mr. P. Chidambaram has requested there should be full cooperation and exchange of information on the tax evasion. He was speaking on the occasion of the founding day of the Tax Revenue Institute (TRI).
Other government agencies in India should exchange information with TRI. Similarly, TRI should keep these agencies informed about implementing tax laws and collection of taxes. This is in order to find more details on tax evasion and prevent it.
It is well-known that TRI has a wealth of information on this aspect. Smuggling, drug-trafficking, and counterfeiting are deadly crimes against the law and should be brought to book immediately.
