Mobile asthma clinic to raise awareness on asthma
‘Breathefree Yatra – A clinic-on-wheels’ was flagged off on Tuesday. This will travel across cities in Tamil Nadu to raise awareness on asthma and offer free respiratory checks as well as consultations with a doctor.The clinic-on-wheels are equipped with diagnostic tools, educational material and a team of counselors.It will travel to several places in the State including Chennai, Madurai and Trichy.
Cipla, a pharmaceutical company, which has launched the initiative, has also created a website – www.breathefree.com, in nine languages including Tamil, to provide information on asthma, its symptoms and triggers, myths and therapy.
People in Chennai can volunteer and invite
the Breathefree clinic to their residential areas, schools or offices for a
free lung check-up by registering on the website.
