Tamil Nadu government sanctions Rs 9 lakh as compensation to kin of deceased

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa
today sanctioned Rs 9 lakh as compensation to the families of victims of
attacks by wild animals. In a statement the Chief Minister Jayalalithaa said
that two persons were killed by wild elephants recently in Coimbatore and
Krishnagiri districts and another died after being attacked by a bison in
Dindigul.She said she has directed the Forest Department to pay Rs three lakh
each as compensation to the families of the deceased.
