Climbing as many as 1305 steps to get the darshan of god is not easy for everyone!!
The devotees of Lord Narasimha Swamy of Sholingur temple would feel delighted now as their dream would become a reality. The famous Sri Lakshmi Narayana Swamy temple at Sholingur near Chennai is making sensational news now because on Friday a new rope care facility or cable car would be introduced here.
It must be noted that the Tamil Nadu chief minister Mr. M.K. Stalin would be inaugurating this rope care facility built at s 8.34 crores at this famous temple for the sake of devotees. He would also be inaugurating many other facilities like waiting hall, toilets, lift etc. For the rope car facility, TN government has provided the amount and for other facilities funds were provided by a 6 member group of philanthropists. It was mentioned by the temple sources that no donations were collected as the donors themselves have provided the amount.
Point is that it is not easy to climb 1305 steps in this hill temple and many elderly people or devotees depend on seventy dolis only. On 24th February 2024, trial run of the rope car facility took place and it was inspected by Mr. P.K. Sekar Babu, HR & CE minister and Mr.R. Gandhi, Handloom minister..
On Friday, the charges for the rope car facility would be announced. It was brought out by an officer that the speed of lifts has been set up in such a way that a trip from bottom to the top of the hill would take just 4 minutes. He added that 400 devotees could be transported down in the 4 cars that would be launched now.
There would be many devotees who would be visiting the shrine once the rope car facility gets launched here. This was as per some officials.
