Know about the jute fair in Mylapore in Chennai!!

On Wednesday, 13th December 2023, jute fair was inaugurated by the commissioner of agriculture Mr. L. Subramanian. This jute fair is being organised by National Jute Board in Chennai.
It was mentioned by Mr. T. Ayyappan, head of marketing, National Jute Board, that jute had travelled a long way to sophistication to become diversified jute products or DJP.
At the jute fair at the Kamadhenu Kalyana Mahal in Mylapore, around 28 entrepreneurs from various states like TN, Karnataka, Telangana, UP, Delhi, WB would be displaying their products. Various jute products that would be displayed would be bags, carpets, foot wears, dolls etc. Important piece of information is that this jute fair would conclude on 19th of December 2023.
It is learnt that about 22 women from a self help group or SHG Kanchi Green Jute Products would also be making their presence felt in the jute fair.
It must be noted that the National Jute Board offers many schemes under the national jute development programme. This is a scholarship scheme for the daughters of the workers of the jute mills.
