Greater Chennai Corporation: Citizens may register complaints in case of excess vehicle parking charges!

In a recent notification released by the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC), it is stated:
"As part of the `Smart City` Special Project planning, the Greater Chennai Corporation has entered into a contract with private agencies to manage all aspects related to vehicle parking facilities in Chennai Metro City.
These contracted firms have been granted the authority to collect vehicle parking charges.
Consequently, these contractors, in collaboration with the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC), will identify parking slots in various locations within the GCC`s jurisdiction and are authorized to collect vehicle parking charges in those areas.
The approved parking charges are set at Rs. 20/- per hour for 4-wheelers and Rs. 5/- per hour for 2-wheelers.
Moreover, at Pondy Bazaar Road in T Nagar, vehicle parking charges have been established at Rs. 60/- per hour for 4-wheelers and Rs. 15/- for 2-wheelers.
If citizens are asked to pay more than the aforementioned parking charges, they are encouraged to file complaints by calling the helpline 1913 or by visiting the X website @ chennaicorp. Citizens can also register complaints at the nearest police station."
