Persistent heavy rains in Thiruvallur and Kanchipuram: a rapid increase in the inflow of rainwater at Puzhal and Chemabaramabakkam Reservoirs!

Persistent heavy rain is prevailing in Kanchipuram and Thiruvallur. As such, there has been a rapid increase in the inflow of rainwater to the Puzhal and Chemabaramabakkam drinking water reservoirs.
There have been intermittent rains over the last 10 days in the areas of Kanchipuram and Thiruvallur Districts. Due to this, there has been a rapid increase in the inflow of rainwater to the 2 major drinking water reservoirs of Puzhal and Chemabaramabakkam supplying drinking water to the Chennai Metro City.
As of yesterday (Friday, 10th November), it has been observed that there is an inflow of 606 cft (cubic feet) per second to the Puzhal drinking water reservoir.
As per the statistics of yesterday (Friday, 10th November), the Puzhal drinking water reservoir, which has a capacity of 3300 million cft and a height of 21.20 feet, has 2475 million cft of water and the level is 18.67 feet.
For the distribution of drinking water to the Chennai Metro City, drinking water is being released at 159cft per second.
There is an inflow of rainwater at 368cft per sec to the Chemabaramabakkam drinking water reservoir. This reservoir has a capacity of 3645 million cft and a height of 24 ft. Presently, it has 3141 million cft of water and a height of 22.08 ft. Drinking water is being released to the Chennai Metro City at 104 cft per sec and the removal of excess water is at 25 cft per sec.
