An alternative road that will be available for the motorists etc to travel freely now in south Chennai!!

The encroachments that were present on the old GST Road near Irumbuliyur in south Chennai have been removed by the Tambaram Corporation now.
It is known to us that the old GST Road in Peekankaranai links to the Tambaram-Velachery Road via irumbuliyur. From now on, the road would be used as an alternative road by motorists. It is said that the Traffic police personnel would also divert the traffic to the old GST Road when there is heavy traffic on the National Highway.
There were many encroachments on the road recently and this has led to heavy traffic congestion here. As a result, autos and other vehicles were unable to move freely due to narrowing of the road because of the presence of encroachments by shops. It is true that the Tambaram Corporation has issued warning to the shopkeepers not to encroach on the road
On Thursday, 12th of October 2023, the Tambaram Corporation with the help from local police personnel removed all the encroachments using earthmovers.
