Taking a bull by its horns is not new for Indian captain & batsman Rohit Sharma!!

The stylish Indian batsman Rohit Sharma is grabbing the news now for his stupendous batting performance against Afghanistan in the world cup match yesterday at New Delhi.

Afghanistan won the toss and batted first on a good batting surface. They made 272/8 in their allotted 50 overs. All rounder Hardik Pandya on his birthday yesterday took 2 wickets and fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah took 4 wickets.The Afghans did not have a clue against the Indian bowlers and they struggled.

Indian batsmen chased the target of 273 in just 35 overs itself.  Virat Kohli scored superb 55 not out and guided the team till the end. Indian captain Rohit Sharma stole the show with a fabulous 131 in just 84 balls yesterday and made sure that his team won the match easily. This was the fastest 100 for India in world cup history. By this batting performance, Rohit Sharma created numerous records yesterday.

He became the joint fastest along with David Warner of Australia to score 1000 runs in world cup history. They both took just 19 innings to score 1000 runs. Rohit Sharma also broke the long-standing record of 6 tons made by India`s Sachin Tendulkar in world cup history. Yesterday, Rohit scored his 7th hundred and overtook Sachin Tendulkar. The amazing fact is that Rohit Sharma scored his 7 hundreds in the world cups in just 19 innings.

Other records Rohit Sharma created yesterday were he smashed the highest number of sixes in international cricket history and overtook the powerful West Indian batsman Chris Gayle.  He also became the first Indian captain to score 100 in a world cup after 20 long years. It is well known to us that former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly scored 100 in the 2003 world cup.
