Since 1991, the family friendly environment with picturesque surroundings Prarthana Beach Drive-In theatre cum restaurant located at Injambakkam on East Coast Road or ECR in the southern part of Chennai has been a superb place for relaxation for many movie goers. Many used to throng this open air theatre with their families and friends. The 90s,2000s kids and other senior persons when asked about their experience here spoke highly about how they used to go to this amazing open air theatre with their families and friends and had dinner while watching the film on the big screen.
The news that has come out is that Prarthana Beach Drive-in restaurant would be shutting down. There would be an apartment complex that would be coming up. This has made many residents unhappy now.
It was mentioned by a Chennai based photographer that in those days there was not much hype about Prarthana Beach Drive-in restaurant and many people didn`t even know about that. He threw light on how he had watched several films here.
