The commuters at the T. Nagar bus terminus have been appreciating the MTC or metropolitan transport corporation now.
At this bus terminus, MTC has installed digital display boards and this has caught the attention of many. The digital display boards would also be installed in the bus stands in localities like Koyambedu. Egmore and Tambaram in a phased manner.
It is worthy to mention here that the decision to install digital display boards follows the initiative that was already taken a year back at the bus stop at the Central railway station and launch of a bus timing app.
After the inauguration of a skywalk at T. Nagar, this place has now become a multi-modal hub is a well known fact. This was according to a senior official from MTC. This skywalk connects T. Nagar bus terminus with Mambalam railway station is known.
It must be taken into account that as a part of extending the digital display network (from Central railway station) now the digital display has been installed at the T.Nagar bus terminus also. There are 25 digital display boards that are in operation at the bus stop at the Central railway station.
In the bus terminus at T. Nagar, MTC has installed 10 digital display boards and from here over 500 buses are being operated everyday. Information collected is that the display boards are linked to the real time bus information system at the MTC headquarters. The display board makes the commuters know about the arrival of buses in advance.
