Over 1 lakh students register for engineering admissions

More than 1 lakh students have registered for online admissions to government reserved seats in engineering courses for the academic year 2023-2024. Out of these, 53,563 students have paid the application fee, according to Engineering Admission Secretary Purushothaman.
The last date to apply online is June 4. The seats in government engineering colleges, government-aided colleges, and private self-financed colleges will be filled through public consultation, considering the merit and caste/community of the students.
The government has reserved 69% of the seats for open category students, 27% for backward classes, 18% for scheduled castes, and 3% for scheduled tribes.
