Chennai airports new integrated terminal to open soon

Chennai`s airport is set to open its newly integrated terminal to the public in the next few weeks following its inauguration by Prime Minister Modi. The expanded terminal boasts wider spaces and more comfortable seating for passengers, as well as an increased number of Immigration and Security Check counters.
The number of counters will increase from 54 to 108 and 34 to 80 respectively, which is expected to significantly reduce long queues. The latest technology on the Inline Baggage system will be used to clear the screening process quickly and accurately, with prohibited items easily identified. The system is designed to prevent drug smuggling in baggage. The construction of the airport`s second phase will be completed within the next two years.
