All games in one place - One of its kind multipurpose sports facility in the school in Chennai!!

Games such as volleyball, basketball and kabbadi etc could be played in one place now in the MGR Nagar Corporation School in Chennai. Thanks to the efforts of the GCC or Greater Chennai Corporation.
This school is one of its kind multipurpose facilities. In the future, the GCC would be setting up such facilities in more schools in Chennai. This was hunted by GCC Commissioner Mr. Gagadeeep Singh Bedi.
He threw light on how there would be professional coaching for games like cricket and football etc. To provide a long term coaching for the students there would also be tie up. Shortly, the football training sessions would be started up and the municipal administration minister Mr. KN. Nehru would be inaugurating these training sessions.
In the beginning, training would be available for a selected number of schools but later on it would be expanded to more schools. The students would be trained to take part in state as well as national level games.
It must not be forgotten that recently the corporation has also introduced sports days for its students and the sports days took place at the famous JN Stadium in Vepery.
Soon, the corporation school (at the CM`s Kolathur constituency BunderGarden area) would be getting a basketball court and a football turf. The school would also have some fabulous facilities like greenery, a waiting area with benches for parents, traditional hand-art in walls, water treatment plant, podium for students etc. It is learnt that these facilities would be constructed at a cost of Rs 4.37 crores.
