Action by the Greater Chennai Corporation: 6719 unauthorized occupations removed over the last 8 months!

The Greater Chennai Corporation has been undertaking various important tasks such as the removal of unauthorized occupations in Public Places, removal of garbage dumped in public places, removal of the drainage water pipelines which have been wrongly linked with the rainwater drainage system pipelines, etc. in all areas under its (GCC`s) jurisdiction!
During the action taken from 6th February until 17th February as per above, 268 permanent constructions in the unauthorized locations, 268 temporary constructions on the road/street pavements and public places and 460 temporary tents have all been removed for a total of 708 unauthorized occupations HAVE BEEN REEN REMOVED IN THE 15 ZONES UNDE RTHE JURISDICTION OF GRATER CHENNAI CORPORATION!
Over the last 8 months, 2730 permanent constructions in unauthorized locations and 3989 temporary occupations in unauthorized areas, for a total of 6719 constructions have been removed in areas under the jurisdiction of the Greater Chennai Corporation.
As such, the GREATER CHENNAI CORPORATION HAS RELEASED AN OFFICIAL CIRCULAR THAT THE CITIZENS WHO HAVE MADE CONSTRUCTIONS IN UNAUTHORIZED LOCATIONS MSUT NOW COME FORWARD BY THEMSELVES AND REMOVE THE CONSTRUCTION, FAILING TO DO THIS WILL ENTAIL THE GREATER CHENNAI CORPORATION TO REMOVE THEM!
