Blue star to set up a new second manufacturing unit near Chennai soon!!

With an investment of atleast Rs 250 crores, Blue Star, an air-conditioner manufacturer would be setting up its second unit at Sri City near Chennai. It is known that Sri City is a SEZ present in AP near Chennai. The new facility would be coming up in an area of 40 acres and it would be manufacturing commercial air-conditioning products and cater for exports.The Sri City near Chennai would be the hub for Blue Star company and this was as per the MD of the company Mr. B. Thiagarajan.
He hinted that 40 acres would be purchased for setting up of the new unit and Rs 250 crores atlast would be needed in the phase one. Information gathered is that the for the Blue Star company exports is now at 100 million USD and in another 3 years it would touch 250 million USD.
He spoke about how the company has set up a unit in an area of 265 acres and the commercial production started from january 2023 onwards. Out of a total investment of Rs 550 cr, an investment of Rs 350 cr has been made in the plant in a phased manner. About 3lakhs units would be manufactured in the first year and the production would be increased up to 12million units gradually.
In places like Dadra and Wada, there are manufacturing units for this company and they have reached their full capacity now and the second expansion at Sri City has come in this backdrop. It must be noted that at present Blue Star has got 7 manufacturing facilities.
