Good news for Chennaites!! A new multi speciality hospital with 18 depts and 500 beds at Guindy soon!!

Come June, the Guindy based King`s Institute would soon turn into a multi speciality hospital in Chennai. The ongoing construction here was inspected by the CM of Tamil nadu Mr. MK. Stalin. To construct the multi speciality hospital here, an amount of Rs 230 crore is being spent.
By the month of June 2023, the construction would get completed and the multi speciality hospital would have as many as 18 departments and around 500 beds . It was later explained by the health minister of TN Mr. M. Subramanian that the tender for construction was in September but the work is likely to get over by June itself.
He spoke about how the inspection concentrated on the quality of the completed works, facilities for people who are differently abled, places to stay for sanitation workers and making the hospital a green space etc. Mr. M. Subramanian then mentioned that the floods were avoided in Chennai even before the monsoon had set in and this was mainly due to the constriction of SWD in a timely manner.
The CM later inspected the ongoing construction of damaged roads in Chennai. It is known that GCC has been carrying out this repairing work at various locations in the city. At a cost of Rs 27.5 lakhs, the Arcot Road stretch of 475 m is being re-laid. The officers must take the responsibility of making sure that the road repair works were done without creating any issue for the public. Proper following up of quality control measures would be very important.
