Extension of free parking time at Chennai airport

The Airport Authority of India after receiving many petitions from people has decided to consider the issue regarding the extending the time for free parking. Now after taking in to the consideration of the passengers plight, the authorities have decided to extend the free parking time of vehicles entering the Chennai airport from five minutes to 10 minutes from the end of next month.
After the AAI shifted its operations to the new terminals, passengers were inconvenienced as cabs started to drop them off on the ground floor near the lift or were charging parking fees. The AAI charges Rs70 if vehicles fail to exit the airport in five minutes, but it has decided to extend the window by another five minutes when the parking contract is awarded to a new firm. A tender has been floated to select a new contractor to manage parking at the airport as the existing contract is ending early next month.
