A New Rule now from the TN Govt regarding eligibility criteria for the govt jobs??

Posted on: 14/Jan/2023 9:54:47 AM
Those aspirants who appear for the written examinations for the government jobs in TN must pass  the Tamil language paper with 40% marks compulsorily to be considered for the jobs.

According to the Government Employees Service Conditions Act, candidates joining the TN services must have sufficient knowledge of the Tamil language as it is the official language of the state.

It must be taken into account that candidates who do not have sufficient knowledge of Tamil at the time of application but if qualified and appointed must pass the Tamil language second paper examination of TN govt within 2 years from the date of appointment.

There were many complaints regarding candidates from other states taking part in the recruitment of employees  in various departments in TN. In this scenario, on the behalf of TN Human Resources Management Dept,  a GO was issued on 1st December 2022.

Point to be noted is that to ensure 100% enrollment of TN youngsters in all the state govt departments and in the state public sector organisations etc in TN, the Tamil language paper was considered compulsory in all the competitive exams in the state. Amendment has been made in the Staff Act to make it mandatory to get atleast 40% in the Tamil language paper
