Special Pongal market at Koyambedu in Chennai!!

On the behalf of the CMDA or Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority,  a special Pongal market would be set up in Koyambedu in Chennai. This was announced by the minister Mr. Sekar Babu.

It is known that the Koyambedu  Wholesale Market Complex in Koyambedu comes under CMDA and yesterday the market was inspected by the minister for Hindu Religious Charities and chairman of CMDA Mr. Sekar Babu. Instructions were given by the minister to improve the basic facilities for citizens and traders etc.

The minister expressed his thoughts and spoke about how field surveys were conducted on staff hostels, food grain commercial areas, condition of the reserved shops etc that have been opened already but not in use in the flower business area. The survey was also conducted on the re-use of places that are reserved for OSA or open space areas. He added that before February month a complete survey would be carried out at the Koyambedu wholesale market. 

Works would be carried out regarding improving the facilities at the important market in Chennai. This would be done by involving many people. In an area of about 3.5 acres, a Pongal special market would be set up by Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority or CMDA. To utilize Koyambedu store waste, a master plan is being prepared also.

Various important personalities who made their presence felt yesterday were Mr. Prabkakarraja MLA, Urban Development Dept secretary Apoorva, Chennai metropolitan Development Committee Member secretary Mr. Anshul Mishra, chief executive officer Lakshmi etc.
