Mr. Senthil Balaji , the electricity minister for TN made it clear that it was not necessary to link Aadhaar card to get 100 units of free electricity. He added that it was just a rumor.
The minister made his presence felt at TNEB headquarters today. He spoke about how there has been a steady electricity supply everywhere now. He hinted that about 50,000 farmers would be provided with electricity connections for 100 days.
Point is that maintenance works have been completed and there is now regular provision of electricity without any stoppage. It is learnt that 20000 farmers have been provided with electricity connections since the launch of the scheme.
