Latest on linking the new airport at Parandur with metro trains!!

After the new airport construction gets completed at Parandur near Chennai, steps would be taken to link the new airport with Chennai by metro train. This was stated by Mr. Kishan Reddy, minister for Culture and Tourism.
Minister Mr Kishan Reddy has come to Chennai now for 2 days and yesterday he made his presence felt at the Vadapalani metro station. He requested the officials to provide necessary facilities to the commuters. Many passengers were taken by surprise when he travelled along with them from Vadapalani to Alandur in a metro train.
He interacted with the passengers to know about their experience of travelling in the metro train. Mr. Kishan Reddy later spoke about how according to the instructions of PM Mr. Narendra Modi the metro train services would be expanded to all cities across India. Truth is that in many cities, metro train services have commenced and construction works are going on in many cities.
Various advantages of metro train services:
Metro train services would reduce traffic congestion and it would bring down the environmental pollution plus save petroleum resources.The ticket rates in metro trains would be less compared to other modes of transport.
It is learnt that the central government has been providing its full support to all the state governments in implementing metro train service for the public.Funds have ebn allotted to TN government for metro rail works and funds would be allotted for additional works too. It must be noted that metro rail project works have been completed in the tier 1 cities in India and the works have been started in the tier 2 cities also.
The minister later explained that in the important cities in India, the state governments have been requesting the centre to provide metro rail networks to airports and railway stations etc.
In this aspect, after the construction of a second airport at Parandur steps would be taken to issue a metro train link to the new airport. For the land acquisition for the new airport at Parandur, the TN govt would be doing its work effectively. Soon, discussions would take place for developing tourist places like Mabalaipuram etc.
