Water to be discharged from Puzhal and Chemabaramabakkam lake reservoirs today (Wednesday, 2nd November)!

Immediately after its onset, the Northeast Monsoon Rainy Season intensified in Tamil Nadu! Especially, it has been raining quite heavily and intermittently in the districts of Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, and Chengalpattu.

Due to the persistent heavy rains over the last 3 days, Chennai Metro City`s roads are inundated with rainwater! Further, the inflow of water to Chennai Metro City`s Main drinking water reservoirs, Puzhal lake and Chemabaramabakkam Lake has increased considerably!

As such, the District Collector of Thiruvallur has announced that the excess water will be released at 100 cft will be released from the lake at 3.00 PM today (Wednesday, 2nd November). The inflow of water in the lake has increased to 2000 cft!

Further, the residents of the banks have been cautioned and advised To be safe.

Similarly, water from the Chemabaramabakkam Lake is also to be let out at 3.00 PM today (Wednesday, 2nd November) at 100 cft as announced by the District Collector!
