Notification of vending and non-vending zones in all 15 zones in Chennai!!

The work regarding the survey of street vendors in the Chennai city would be completed soon by the Chennai Corporation. In the 15 GCC zones the vending as well as the non-vending zones would be notified. It has been brought to light by some councillors at the meeting yesterday that the private agency that has been involved in the enumeration of street vendors has been doing the work without even consulting the local councillors.
Once when the enumeration of street vendors gets over, then vending as well as the non-vending zones present in each of the 15 GCC zones would be notified. This was mentioned by some officers belonging to GCC. It is true that Chennai has got more than 30000 street vendors now but as per the records their numbers are three times more. After the completion of the survey, the details about the exact number of street vendors would be available.
