The Railway Station Platform ticket price up - from tomorrow, 1st October!!

The price of the Railway Station platform tickets in 8 Railway Stations under the Chennai Railway Division has been increased to Rs. 20/- from tomorrow (Saturday, 1st October)!
Southern Railway announced on Thursday (29th September) that the price of the railway station platform ticket is to be increased! With the important and grand festivals of Ayudha Pooja (Navarathri), Deepavali, Christmas, and Pongal approaching fast in sequence, the price of the Railway Station platform ticket has been increased restricting the crowd level in the stations.
As such, the price of the Railway Station Platform ticket in the 8 Railway Stations under the Chennai Railway Division is increased from Rs. 10/- to Rs. 20/- from tomorrow (Saturday, 1st October).
In a notification released by the Southern Railway in this regard, it is mentioned that the platform tickets in the Railway Stations Chennai Central, Chennai Egmore, Tambaram, Katpadi, Chengalpattu, Arkonam, Thiruvallur, and Avadi.
