Manifold increase in ticket fares who cares - Passengers prefer Omni buses to go to their native places in TN?

Manifold increase in the ticket rates have not stopped the passengers from preferring Omni buses in TN!!
Many passengers these days prefer to travel by omni buses and not in the buses operated by the transport corporations. This was mentioned by Mr. S.S. Shivsankar, transport minister.He added that even knowing that the ticket prices are expensive vin the omni buses many passengers prefer only omni buses. It is a well known fact that the passengers are unhappy regarding the manifold increase in the ticket fares.
The minister took part in a meeting with the omni bus owners at the Commissionerate of the State Transport Authority and Road Safety. He hinted that the omni bus ticket rates would not affect poor people who prefer the transport corporation buses.
It must be taken into account that as many as 947 omni buses were checked for exorbitant ticket fares and it was found that just 97 passengers complained about the fares. Point is that many passengers did not complain about the high fares because they knew about the fares and facilities offered. Knowing the fares, the passengers book their tickets. In the wake of the forthcoming festival season and to avoid passengers` complaints about the huge ticket fares etc, the meeting was held.
Various types of buses such as seaters, sleepers, semi-sleepers, a/c buses, volvo buses etc are being operated by the omni buses owners. The ticket fares in these buses have been fixed based on the type of omni bus. There has been a steep hike in the prices of the fuels plus huge financial losses due to Coronavirus pandemic etc. Inspite of these, the transport corporations have not increased the ticket fares.
It was mentioned by the transport minister that there must not be any comparison amsde between omni buses ticket fares and corporation buses ticket fares as the omni buses owners are running business.
