Important announcement!! New traffic diversions in Chennai

Very important information for the Chennai based residents!!!

Hindu Dharmartha Samithi trust would be organising Tirupati Thirukudai Padayatra Procession and many devotees would be participating. For this, the Chennai traffic police have announced traffic diversions on Sunday, 25th September 2022.

An official release has mentioned that nearly 10,000 persons would be taking part in this padayatra. It is now mentioned that to avoid traffic congestion traffic diversions would be there from 10am in the morning till the end of the event.

From 8m till the padayatra procession crosses Wall tax Road, there would be no vehicular movement on the NSC Bose Road, Mint Road and various linking roads. Point is that the motorist would be able to use EVR Road, Rajaji Road, Wall Tax Road, Basin Bridge Road and Prakasam Road etc. No vehicles would be allowed to use the Wall Tax Road and its connecting roads from 3pm till the procession crosses Basin Bridge. It must be noted that the motorists would be able to use Basin Bridge Road, Mint Road via Prakasam Road or Rajaji Road, EVR Road, Muthuswamy Road and Rajaji Road.

Vehicles would not be allowed to go on the Basin Bridge top once when the procession reaches Moothakothalam area and they would be able to use Rajaji road, EVR Road and Dr. Ambedkar Road etc.

Vehicles coming from Choolai roundabout would be diverted towards Choolai High Road and RAJA Muthiah Road once the procession reaches Demellows Point. The vehicles coming from Mosque point would be diverted at VH Road – Sydenhams Road towards Vepery High Road and this would be once the procession approaches the Choolai Roundtana.

It is learnt that when the procession enters the Choolai Roundtana the vehicles coming from Narayana guru Salai would be diverted at Hunter`s Road junction towards the EVK Sampath Salai.

Vehicles coming from Avadhana Papaiya Road and Perambur Barracks Road would be diverted at AP Road and PB Road junction to Doveton and this would be when the procession reaches AP Road.

Vehicles coming from Doveton Junction towards Perambur Barracks Road would be diverted at Doveton Junction towards Narayana Guru Salai once the procession enters Perambur Barracks Road.

It is important to note that when the procession reaches near to Otteri Bridge then vehicles from Millers Road and Bricklin Road junction towards Otteri Bridge would be diverted towards Purasawalkam High Road.

The vehicles coming from Ottery Bridge, Medavakkam Tank Road and ICF Junction towards Konnur 1 point would be diverted from the Otteri Bridge towards Cooks Road. This would happen when the procession reaches Konnur 1 point. Thehe vehicles would be diverted from ICF Junction towards New Avadi Road and from MVT Road and VP Colony Junction towards VP Colony South.
