Shortage of diesel at the petrol bunks in Chennai - What will be its impact?

For the second successive day yesterday, there has been a shortage of diesel at the petrol bunks in Chennai city. This has made many residents of Chennai worry now.
Popular oil companies such as IOC, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum have been supplying petrol and diesel to various petrol bunks or petrol stations in Chennai.
On 5th of September 2022, there was a shortage of diesel at the petrol bunks supplied by the companies like Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum. Many petrol bunks in Chennai had `Diesel out of stock` notice boards. This had affected many motorists.
For the second consecutive day yesterday 6th September, not only was there a shortage of diesel at the petrol bunks but there was also a shortage of petrol too. It is known that there are petrol bunks belonging to Bharat petroleum in several places in Chennai like Nungambakkam, Purasawalkam, Egmore, Anna Salai, Mylapore etc. The petrol bunks in these localities are having shortage of fuels now.
In majority of the petrol bunks in these localities `No petrol and diesel` notice board has been displayed. It is now said that if this situation exists then the cargo vehicles carrying the essential goods would be suspended. There would be chances of increase in the prices of goods.
