Great news for passengers! Special Buses to operate from this evening (30th August)!

Vinayaka Chathurthi or Ganesh Chathurthi is set to be celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm throughout the country tomorrow (Wednesday, 31st August)!
As such, tomorrow is declared a Government Holiday! As such, many citizens working in other cities/states desire to visit their native places on this occasion!
So, it is expected that there would be a rush of passengers travelling to their native places from today evening (Tuesday, 30th August).
Arrangements have been made to run special buses to different places from the Chennai Metro City Koyambedu Bus Terminus.
Around 2200 buses operate daily from the Koyambedu Bus Terminus to various cities. As such, today, apart from the normal daily scheduled buses, 750 special additional buses will be operated today (Tuesday, 30t August)!
These special buses are run on behalf of the Tamil Nadu State Express Transport Corporation and Villupuram, Salem, and Kumbakonam, transport corporations.
In this regard, the officials of the Transport Department shared: "On the occasion of Vinayaka Chathurthi, to meet the additional demands of the citizens, all arrangements have been made to operate additional special buses!
Special buses will operate from Chennai Metro City to Madurai, Tirunelveli, Thoothukkudi, Nagercoil, Thenkasi, Trichy, Hosur, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Thanjavur, and other cities.
We are ready and prepared to meet the additional demand by special buses to run from 4.00 PM today (Tuesday, 30th August) until midnight!
As the Velankanni Arogya Maatha Festival is also in progress, we have arranged to operate additional special buses to Velankanni as well!
We have also arranged special buses to Pudhuchery, Thiruvannamalai, Kallakkurichi, Vellore, Villupuram, Salem, and other places.
Special buses will operate from the terminus near the Tambaram Railway Station as well!
