Amazing news for the school students in Chennai!!

Cricket coaching is not meant only for the rich school students and even the talented poor students should get cricket coaching!!
Now, Chennai Corporation is taking steps for this.
Over the decades, many cricketers from Chennai have played for India. Cricketers like Venkatraghavan and Srikkanth have even captained the Indian team. In recent times, Chennai cricketers like Dinesh Karthik, Murali Vijay etc have done very well in cricket. Ravi Ashwin from Chennai has been fantastic with his achievements and he has made many to sit up and take notice of his skills. These cricketers have made a huge impact on many youngsters now.
The news is that as many as 1500 poor and talented students belonging to the corporation schools in Chennai would soon be provided with cricket coaching free of cost. This has been planned by the Chennai Corporation. What is amazing here is the fact that professional cricketers who have experience at the international level would be making their presence felt in the cricket coaching.
It is leant that the cricket coaching has become unaffordable for the poor parents of 1.1lakh corporation school students in Chennai. The initiative has been taken by the Chennai Corporation for these students. In the first phase, 40 school students would be selected for cricket coaching and in the next phase more students would be given free cricket coaching.
The screening session would be conducted soon and for that the physical education teachers have been asked to select the best students. For 11 months, the first phase of free coaching would be there. It is noteworthy that after 40 students get selected then they would be given free cricket coaching at a cricket academy twice a week. The GCC would be responsible for the transport arrangements of these 40 students from their schools to the cricket academy and vice versa.
In the beginning, free cricket coaching would be provided to the boys only. This is because of the fact that many parents are unwilling to send their daughters for cricket coaching due to the distance. In the future, more cricket infrastructural facilities would be available in the Chennai Corporation schools.
