All private schools and hostels to be reviewed across TN!!

Some days back, a private school in Kallakurichi was ravaged by people as a girl student of class12 died mysteriously. Now, the government of Tamil Nadu has decided to review the safety aspects of all the private schools and their hostels in the state.
Under the state school education department, the Directorate of Matriculation accords permission to open private matriculation schools and upgrade the current institutions that satisfy all the norms. This includes ensuring safety and security of the school students as stipulated by the government.
It was mentioned by a senior officer belonging to the school education department that the government has taken note of the incidents that took place at Kallakurichi based private school and has decided to take steps to avoid such incidents in the future.
Regarding safety and security aspects, detailed review of every private school in TN would be conducted by the concerned authorities. There are many residential schools located in places like Chennai, Trichy, Coimbatore, Namakkal, Madurai, Krishnagiri, The Nilgiris and Thiruvallur districts etc in TN. These residential schools would get special attention from now on. It is said that feedback from students as well as from the parents would be sought out.
The recognition period of private schools in TN would be brought down from the current 3 years. This would be mainly to continuously monitor the schools on the critical aspect of student and teacher safety. All the hostels would have to get prior permission to functions and this would be ensured by the district education officers.
