Delightful news: for buyers of electric vehicles: Central Government Plans explained!

In the recent period, there is an increasing trend in the number of people opting to buy electric vehicles!

It is estimated that the use of electric vehicles will increase manifold and they will outnumber diesel/petrol vehicles!

However, as there are no charging stations as much as the diesel/petrol bunks this is considered as a setback!

With the above situation, during the question hour in the parliament, members of parliament raised this shortage and the Joint Minister for Industries, Krishan Pal Gurjar, replied in writing!

In this letter, it is mentioned that the Central Government implemented the scheme known as FAME (a part of the National Mission on Electric Mobility) in 2915 to enhance the infrastructure for large-scale usage of Electric Vehicles!

Presently, the 2nd Phase of FAME is being implemented over 5 years from 1st April 2019.

A fund of Rs. 1000 Crores has been allotted for the enhancement of the infrastructure

In this situation, to encourage the use of electric vehicles, FAME India has been undertaking several initiatives! On this basis, the Central Ministry for Heavy Industries has approved the FAME Scheme- 2nd Phase to set up 2877 electric power charging centres for electric vehicles in 68 cities of 25 states and Union Territories throughout the country.

Further, permission has been granted to set up 1576 Charging Stations on 9 Express Highways and 16 National Highways throughout the country.

Under the 1st Phase of the FAME India scheme, 520 charging stations have been set up throughout the country. The Central government has been undertaking several activities to enhance the infrastructure required for the usage of electric vehicles.
