Greater Chennai Corporation: to charge a new Property Tax for the premises where rent is collected for the installation of cell phone towers!

The officials of the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) have informed us that GCC has decided to charge a special type of Property Tax for the owners of the premises who collect rents for the cell phone towers installed on their premises!
As per the Chennai Metro City`s Municipal Act 1919 Section 100, based on the Fair Rent System, a half-year Property Tax is being charged.
The rent is assessed based on factors such as Basic Charges, the area of the premises, and whether it is a residential or non-residential zone.
Similarly, as per the Professional Tax Act, Professional Tax is charged based on the income earned in half-year.
As per this, Professional Tax is collected from individuals, Private organisations, and the employees of the State and Central Government.
As above, the entrepreneurs, and individuals with income have to pay the half-year Professional Tax as per their half-yearly incomes!
