Posted on: 30/May/2022 9:05:42 AM
In Chennai, many people use MRTS as their mode of transport to reach their destinations as they find the trains very comfortable. Between Velachery station and Beach station in Chennai, the services of MRTS were affected yesterday. This has caught the attention of many.

An OHE or overhead electricity line snapped near the Fort station and due to this there was no MRTS services between above mentioned places for more than an hour on Sunday. The reason cited for snapping of OHE line was the crashing of a huge tree on the electricity line.

A maintenance car was pressed into service and the MRTS services resumed by 2:30 pm. This was mentioned by a senior officer belonging to the Chennai division of the Southern Railways or SR. Point is that no trains were cancelled.

Those commuters who were getting ready to board long distance trains at Chennai Central railway station faced issues due to the disruption of MRTS services.

It was brought to light by a Taramani resident that he wanted to take a suburban train to Central station and how he was advised by his friend to take some other modes of transport. Finally, he and his cousin took an auto to reach the Central station.
