Sensational that will happen at Anna University in Chennai

A research park would be set up at the world renowned Anna University or AU in Chennai. This research park would be on par with the international standards. The setting up of a research park has been decided by the government of Tamil Nadu. In the future, there would be industry skill based courses available for the students at this university and AU would join hands with IBM.
From the coming academic year onwards industry skill based courses would be available for the students of B.E and B. Tech at this AU. This was according to a senior officer belonging to the higher education department. An amount of Rs 6 crores has been allotted for this already by the TN government. The senior officer later mentioned that the research park project would be implemented with the help of alumni members and various industries at a cost of Rs 50 crores.
Incubation centres as well as industry based research project activities would be present in the upcoming research park. More than 20000 UG as well as PG students would benefit from this.
It is worthy to mention that the research campus would also acquire Green Rating for integrated Habitat Assessment or GRIHA, a rating tool that would help people concerned to assess the performance of their building against certain benchmarks. Education and industrial collaboration would be promoted by this research park that would be spread across more than 5acres of land. There would be more than 100 lab and test facilities and it would be on par with IIT and various other international educational institutions.
National Institutional Ranking Framework or NIRF has ranked Anna University as 16th among other educational institutions across India. At a cost of Rs 10 crores, 11 new technical and exclusive centres would be established on the AU campus.
