What is going to happen at Neelankarai, Injambakkam and Sholinganallur etc soon?

Traffic congestion between Thiruvanmiyur to Akkarai on the ECR would soon become a thing of the past!!
An amount of Rs 135 crores has been allotted by the state highways department to widen the 4 lanes at Neelankarai, injambakkam and Sholinganallur. Soon, a memorandum of understanding or MoU will be signed between NHAI, TN government, Navy, Chennai port etc. This would be mainly to implement the Maduravoyal to Chennai port elevated corridor project. This was mentioned by Mr. Palanivel Thiayagarajan, minister for finance.
The minister later explained that the TN government was committed to reviving and implementing a 20.6km long double decker elevated corridor at an estimated amount of Rs 5770 crores. Point is that NHAI has been preparing the detailed project report or DPR.
The finance minister threw light on how to decongest Thiruvanmiyur to Akkarai stretch on ECR the state highways department has allotted Rs 135 crores for widening 4lane to 6lanes in places like Neelankarai, Injambakkam and Sholinganallur etc. The need of the hour was to widen 4lane into 6lane to decongest the increased traffic congestion. The sanctioning of funds for widening the Thiruvanmiyur, Palavakkam and Kottivakkam stretches has been granted. It must be noted that the bottlenecks in the handling over the ECR beyond Mamallapuram to NHAI were also addressed. Soon, the work on widening the road to 4 lane road would start.
During the monsoons, inundation of causeways has been an issue and this has led to traffic congestion. In future, the highways department would convert causeways into high level bridges. For this, an amount of Rs 1000 crores has been allotted. For constructing a grade separator with elevated rotary at Kattupakkam junction a DPR would be prepared. It is known that this junction is a meeting point for arterial roads such as Chennai-Chittoor- Bangalore Road, Mount -Poonamallee - Avadi Road and Poonamalle- Kundrathur- Pallavaram Road etc,
