Motorists finding it difficult at road over bridge or ROB on CTH or Chennai - Tiruvallur High Road!!

The ride for the motorists in the west suburban areas in Chennai is not smooth!!
It is worthy to note here that the motorists traveling on Chennai-Tiruvallur High road or CTH are finding it difficult due to the ongoing works on ROB here.
In the year 2011, the road over bridge was given approval by the TN government and it was supposed to replace the unmanned level crossing gate at Pattabiram. The civil works began in the year 2018 is known. The construction of ROB here has affected the motorists in a huge way and motorists take nearly 20 to 30 minutes in the peak hours to cross a distance of 1 km because of the civil works. The vehicular movement on CTH has been affected by this.
In 2018, to facilitate the construction of ROB, police personnel and highways personnel made some changes in the movement of traffic here. Vehicles heading towards Pattabiram and Thiruvallur from Ambattur and Poonamallee have been diverted via Pattabiram- Poonamallee Road to reach CTH near ORR roundabout that is 500m away from the under construction ROB. It must be taken into account that those vehicles heading towards Ambattur from Thiruvallur were allowed to use the existing road. It is known that this road width has reduced due to various works.
For about 15 months, the traffic continued amidst stiff resistance. Truth is that the construction of ROB has been stopped due to several reasons and it has led to diverting traffic in the Avadi-Pattabiram section on the CTH road. The sensational piece of news is that as of November 2019 more than 80000 vehicles have been using this CTH road daily. Recently, ROB works have resumed by the state highways department. Few buildings on CTH were demolished by the highways department and had asked for the police to impose old traffic arrangements for speedy completion.
