Prospects for lockdown restrictions again in Tamil Nadu!

Posted on: 28/Dec/2021 12:18:58 PM
Tamil Nadu Government State Minister for Health M. Subramanian has informed that the Chief Minister will make an announcement regarding the general lockdown restrictions to be imposed after 31st December.

During the raging first and second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, the public adopted the Indian Medicinal system of Siddha, Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Yoga and benefited.

A decision has been taken in a similar vein to adopt the Indian Medicinal system to encounter the challenges of the fast and wide-spreading Omicron variant of the coronavirus pandemic.

During the raging corona 1st & 2nd wave period, 77 Indian Medicinal Monitoring and treatment centres were set up in the State of Tamil Nadu.

1700 beds were set up for giving the Indian Medicinal treatment. During the maximum raging period of the coronavirus pandemic, additional 6700 beds were set up.

Presently, a data collection centre has been set up to ensure the above beds are ready and prepared to accommodate the infected patients.

Out of the citizens who came from foreign countries, 87 citizens were detected with symptoms of omicron variant infection. Out of this, 34 citizens are confirmed with omicron variant infection of coronavirus.

18 citizens have recovered after treatment and 16 citizens are under treatment.

It is possible to detect and confirm omicron variant infection in the Genes Laboratory and Research Centre in Tamil Nadu.

However, the central government has NOT YET permitted for this centre to detect and confirm Omicron infection. As such, the samples need to be sent to the testing centres in cities such as Bengaluru, Pune, etc. As it takes more time to check and confirm infection in this procedure, the patients recover after treatment and are discharged and sent home even before the results are received from other cities!
