Artificial Intelligence Cameras to be set up in 7500 locations in Chennai Metro City!

Artificial Intelligence cameras are being set up in 7500 locations in the Chennai Metro City in the public gathering areas and locations with frequent crimes and locations where women are harmed.
The new artificial intelligence cameras have much more beneficial features as compared to the cameras presently installed! They are being installed in all the important locations in Chennai Metro City.
The funds of Rs. 150 Crores allotted for the Police department are being used for this expense.
Once these new artificial cameras, 2with more advanced features including sending alarm signal in case of offensive incidents, the safety of the public, in the open areas will be especially will be more effective!
This is possible because these new advanced cameras can not only monitor and record the incidents but also are capable of sensing the feeling of the offenders.
In case there are indications of offence to happen in a specific location, these cameras can detect it and warn!
The incidents recorded by ordinary cameras can only be seen on the video monitors. However, the artificial intelligent cameras can not only record the offensive incident but also keep monitoring the offender’s every single activity! In case some offensive instinct is detected, it will immediately slash the scene on the monitors in the Control Room!
Especially, the cameras can detect the offensive behaviour of persons even before the offence starts happening and show and warn whether there are prospects for offensive incidents to occur in that location.
These artificial intelligence cameras can detect a person’s feelings such as fear, anger, etc.! In case a person carries weapons such as a gun, rifle, swords, axes, or explosives, it can detect this too and warn!
Apart from the above, there are other important features such as:
- The number of people in the location
- Warning in case a protected item is stolen
- Identifying the registration numbers of vehicles
- Identifying a person through voice
- Identifying a person through facial identity
- Detecting explosives
In the normal camera, it is possible only to identify the criminal with facial features only! But, in this artificial intelligent camera, a person’s feelings, activities, and behaviour can be detected and identified and warnings given.
For enabling these facilities, special software is installed in the server where the new cameras are linked. As it t is functional throughout the day, any crime-related or unusual happenings are recorded and displayed in the central control room.
In this regard, the higher officials of the Police Department explained that as per the features explained above, the police need not see all the happenings recorded. They need only watch the video clips selected by the artificial intelligent camera and watch them.
