Prospects for very heavy rains in 9 districts including Chengalpattu!

Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects for very heavy rain today (Friday, 26th November) in 9 districts of Tamil Nadu State including Kanyakumari, Thirunelveli and Chengalpattu.
In a notification released in this regard by the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre, it is mentioned:
“Due to the cyclonic format developed in the upper layers of the atmosphere over the Kanyakumari Ocean and the adjacent Sri Lanka Coastal area, there are prospects for heavy to very heavy rains with lightning and thunder today (Friday, 26th November)in a few places in the districts of Kanyakumari, Thirunelveli, Thoothukkudi, Ramanathapuram, Thiruvannamalai, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Cuddalore, and Kallakurichi.
There are prospects for widespread heavy rain with lightning and thunder in a few places in the districts of Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Madurai, Thenkasi, Theni, Dindigul, the delta districts and Puducherry & Karaikkal. There are prospects for widespread medium rain with lightning and thunder in the other places.
As regards Chennai Metro City, there are prospects for heavy rains with lightning and thunder in the next 24 hours in a few places.
