After heavy rains lashed several parts of Tamil Nadu, the state government has declared a 2 days holiday for schools on November 8 and 9 , in Chennai and 16 other districts
- Holidays for schools and colleges in Chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur and Chengalpattu districts
- Schools holiday in Villupuram, Cuddalore, Karur, Kallakurichi, Thiruvannamalai, Ranipettai, Thanjavur, Salem, Vellore, Namakkal, Mayiladuthurai, Ariyalur, Trichy, Tirupattur , Nagapattinam
