Pollution has been creating many issues for the public and many steps have been taken to reduce pollution.
Information is that to avoid environmental pollution battery powered Green ௩.௦ rail engine was launched in the Chennai central station. This has been grabbing the attention of many.
It is known that for protecting the environment the diesel run rail engines have been reduced and more battery run ones are being used now. It must be noted that between MGR Central and Basin Bridge workstations 2 Green engines are being used to drag trains to workstations.
Now, using the latest technology, a Green 3.0 rail engine that could run on both battery plus electricity has been developed. It is now mentioned that this new rail engine would run in battery for 5 hours. The southern railways general manager, Mr. John Thomas launched this new Green engine yesterday.
Others who made their presence felt yesterday were additional general manager Mr. Malya, Chennai division railway manager Mr. Ganesh etc.
