Why is Kolathur in Chennai making news?

An auditorium, playground and a park set has been unveiled by the chief minister of TN Mr, M.K. Stalin in Kolathur Assembly Constituency on Tuesday. An amount of Rs 97.49 lakhs has been spent for this. Information is that the CM also made his presence in Erwin School and reviewed the arrangements there. It is important to note that the classes would be held in this school building for the new government arts colleges that would be set up by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR & CE) department.

In the Sembium based Chennai Middle School located on the Rangasayee Street, an auditorium has been built at a cost of Rs 15.31 lakhs. At a cost of Rs 26.18lakhs, a playground has been set up and this playground would have a badminton court and children’s play area etc. In Thiru Vi- Ka Nagar, a park has been constructed over an area of 7500 sq ft at a cost of Rs 56lakhs and the chief minister unveiled the park. The school and college students received educational materials from the chief minister yesterday at the Kolathur MLA office. Three wheelers, carts and hearing aids to the beneficiaries were also distributed by the chief minister of Tamil Nadu.
