Exclusive guidelines released by the State Government of Tamil Nadu for school/college tests and government job written tests!

The State Government of Tamil Nadu has released exclusive rules, regulations and guidelines for the written examinations conducted in schools and colleges and the competitive examinations for the recruitment of state government jobs.
The highlights:
· As per this, it is mandatory to allow an assistant (for writing the examination/reading the question paper, assisting in the practical/laboratory examinations) for the differently-abled candidates in the examination centre! These assistants are to be allowed as per the preference/request of the differently-abled candidate.
· When an assistant is allowed for writing the examination on behalf of the differently-abled student, he/she must be fluent and fast in writing!
· Committees MUST be formed comprising of writers, readers, laboratory/practical assistants, etc., at the district and State Levels. The concerned differently-abled candidate MUST be allowed to select on these committee members as required.
· For the differently-abled candidates writing computer-based examinations, they must be allowed to have a check on the test-system 1-day before the examination. The assistant selected must have the required minimum qualifications.
· In case a candidate is writing the examination in more than 1 language, he/she may be allowed to have more than 1 assistant for this.
· In case the differently-abled candidate requires additional time for completing the examination, he/she MUST be given the additional time.
· Ramps required for the differently-abled candidate MUST be provided in the Examination Centres/Examination Halls. Differently-abled candidates MUST be allowed to take calculators, Braille, etc. if they need,
· Examinations for the differently-abled candidates MUST be conducted in a separate hall!
All Institutions/organisers MUST observe these above regulations made exclusively for the differently-abled candidates.
