Local Elections latest: Election Commission: Candidates to apply from 15th September

Election Dates have been announced for the local administrations in 9 districts of Tamil Nadu – Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Kanchipuram, Kallakurichi, Thirunelveli, and Thenkasi.
Tamil Nadu State Election Commissioner Nandhakumar has released the election timetable.
It has been announced that the local elections will be conducted in 2 phases in the 9 districts mentioned above!
Accordingly, the elections are scheduled to be conducted on 6th & 9th October. Vote counting will be on 12th October!
Filing for the election contest is scheduled to commence on 15th September (Wednesday, day-after-tomorrow) and will conclude on 22nd September.
Verification/Checking of the applications will be on 23rd September. Contest withdrawal can be on 25th September.
Election Rules and Regulations have been implemented right away and it will be followed until 16th October.
