Mondays are considered to be the sacred special day for Lord Siva as per the Hindu traditions.
It is considered to be the best to observe penance - ‘Viratham’ - by observing fast by eating only one session in the day and performing special poojas/prayers - and will facilitate Blessings of Lord Siva!
It is considered especially more sacred observing penance on the Mondays during the Tamil Calendar Month of ‘Karthigai’!
